So it seems keeping my website up to date is not my forte! In between orchestrating an office move in my 'other' job, there's been a lot of photography and editing going on in the background in the last month. Here's a (low resolution) preview of some new website images....

I've been taking and editing photos to update my website. Here's one of Water Wears a Stone which is going to be too 'tall' for my website format, so thought I'd include it here.

out of time

Within the space of one month, our group exhibition Girls on Time was installed, opened and closed. It was a great show and thanks to everyone who came along to check it out at Stanley Street Gallery.

Here's an image of my installation Water Wears a Stone and a couple of group shots at the gallery on opening night. It's ridiculous how difficult it is to gather ten girls together for a photo and have all ten looking at the same camera at the same time. I think these photos came from Radka's camera (I owe someone a more formal photography credit).

needle and thread

Some textile designs I've been working on, in between finishing my work for the tenmoregirls group exhibition. There's something very hypnotic about producing pattern and texture with just needle and thread. Still some fine-tuning required with my colour selections (not sure where all the pink and pastels came from!), but I have plans for these...

girls on time

I'm participating in the tenmoregirls group exhibition again this year. Our exhibition theme for 2013 is Time.

Based on the question 'how much time do you give something before you give up on it?', my work explores the tension between patience and frustration. Its forms are inspired by stress balls, line graphs, cave formations and rock weathering.

I discovered merino fleece a few years ago. It's such a beautiful material to work with, though the painstaking process of needle-felting for this project is certainly going to test my patience!

the curio

In August 2012, I created a small series of wearables called Symmography for The Curio Collectors Cabinet at gaffa in Sydney. This was an extension of my 2012 group exhibition work and explored how the geometrical patterns from that work could be translated into metal pendants and rings.

mind the gap

Time to account for the year since my last blog post (she typed somewhat sheepishly).

Here are a couple of images of my work Play.Ground., from the 2012 tenmoregirls exhibition, during and after installation.
